Sensei Jeoffrey the wonder boy" is a skilled karate instructor who draws inspiration from his favorite cartoon Naruto. When he's not teaching, he indulges in his favorite food, pork blood stew, and unwinds with Titanic. He's not a fan of cereal but loves his students' discipline.
Jeoffrey Abitong Sr.
An instructor who’s as unique as his favorite movie Fifth Element. Loves all you can eat at Mongolian Grill or Cap’n Crunch especially while on a cruise. Cliff diving doesn’t scare him, but the Chuppacabra does…what is that anyway? Just ask Bubba (nickname) in your next lesson.
Master Michael loves the classics, The Beatles, Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon, and To Kill a Mockingbird. If you don’t know what those are, come take a class and ask him. He’s not afraid of anything (like when he once kissed a goat), but death itself. His cereal of choice is Honey Nut Cheerios and his favorite food is steak.
Got rice? If so, Master Brandon is there! Some of his favorite trips have been to Dublin and Galway, Ireland and he looks forward to going a little farther east to Korea and Japan someday. A fan of the Finnish symphonic metal band, Nightwish, which would be the perfect theme music for this favorite cape crusader, Batman.
Brandon Lee Kim
“Evel” Kniesel enjoys banging his head to heavy metal music legend Metallica between classes. A family man who loves vacationing with his family to the Caribbean, he’s never met a Chocolate Cake he didn’t like. He’s got all the energy you want from a master teacher from his flux capacitor from his favorite movie Back to the Future.
Don’t Master Graham’s love for traditional steak and potato full you, he has some pretty fun facts to know. He listens to Cage the Elephant, an American rock band and his favorite movie is Second Hand Lions that teaches that everyone should have a chance to truly live in life, like when he lived in Hawaii one summer with his mom despite being afraid of fish.
Sean (aka Colonel Flag) once taught a cheer routine using kata which is so cool like his favorite hero, Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He scared of spiders but loves the Beatles. A rare non-sugar cereal Chex eater, he dreams of taking a chill Alaskan Cruise.
I love Superman, Looney Tunes cartoons, and my favorite movie is The Outlaw Josey Wales (love Clint Eastwood). Tacos are my weakness, and the craziest, most fun thing I’ve ever done was throwing a football between two driving cars. If I had to choose a favorite cereal, Crunch Berries would be up there!
Jim “Big Head” Nelson enjoys classic rock artist Edward Van Halen, Chinese food, and his favorite movie The Other Guys. A funny fact about Jim is he once played a wooden toilet seat on Fox Chanel 2 in the morning…you’ll have to ask him what that’s about. He’s afraid of Kodiak Bears and dreams about scuba diving in the Bahamas (no bears)!
Also has been called Monkey, Erica can laugh at herself, like the time she made a hot air balloon out of a box and big bag. After launching it, the wind caught it and it flew back smacking her in the face. Some other fun things about Erica is that she loves listening to Bug Hunter, is scared of snakes, and loves Philly Cheesesteaks and Fruity Pebbles.
A Black Panther fan, Keith likes a whole bunch of things including John Wick movies, chicken and spinach, Cap’n Crunch, and the ripcord ride at Worlds of Fun. Never wanting to miss an opportunity, “Keedy Kat” as he is sometimes called, will one day visit Asia (Japan, China, Korea).
Master Logan loves Japan, from listening to his favorite band The Sixth Lie (Japanese electronic rock band) to taking a dream cultural and historical vacation to the country. He even loves busting out Karaoke tunes with his crackly voice. His favorite movie is Dead Poet Society, so Carpe Diem and seize the day!
Japan is a dream vacation spot which is a good thing because there aren’t any chimpanzees which Austin fears. Spiderman is his favorite superhero and if you do happen to be in Austin’s friendly neighborhood, you may catch him enjoying his favorite cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
She’s so cool having surfed over at Santorini, Greece. A movie saga maven, she loves Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. She is all about safety but smiles when remembering lecturing someone about being safe only to get hurt herself a few seconds later. You’ll get on her good side if you bring her some BBQ ribs!
VT is a fan of water whether that is snorkeling in Hawaii or dreaming about the Bahamas. When hungry, V prefers chicken wings or even a nice sugary bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Although Vedant is scared of heights, this doesn’t stop him for aiming for the stars for his students.
Heather’s favorite superhero is Thor, but she also enjoys watching Winnie the Pooh and the Princess Diaries. Make no mistake about it though, Master “Yabi” is one tough cookie despite her fear of snakes. She’s snorkeled with turtles and also enjoys listening to country music (Reba Mcentire). She dreams about having a gelato in Italy one day.
A Marvel Universe aficionado of the Avengers-Endgame, Jon is a kid at heart who loves chicken nuggets, vacations with his family, and Pokémon cartoons. He likes Spiderman but not spiders. A down to earth guy who enjoys country music (Rascal Flatts), he thinks it would be cool to one day climb the Great Pyramids of Egypt.
Master “Markie” is a Fruit Loops cereal man and loves Billy Joel the Piano Man. He’s all things scuba and can’t wait to explore ruins on his next dive. He likes the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars sagas and relaxing to Scooby Doo cartoons while munching on Tacos! Can you say, Taco/Toon Tuesdays!
Just like his favorite cartoon, Teen Titans, Sensei Zach knows the power of teamwork and camaraderie. He instills these values in his students, fostering a sense of unity in his dojo. However, his playful side knows no bounds! Picture Sensei Zach, towel draped as a cape, dashing through his home, belting out the iconic Batman theme. Ironically for this karate master, he has a kryptonite: heights! The ground may be his domain, but ask him to scale a ladder, and you'll see a different side of this fearless instructor. His favorite musician is Taylor Swift and he dreams of exploring the ancient wonders and idyllic beaches of the Greek Isles.
Riley has so many favorites we don’t have enough room to list them all. You’ll have to just ask him. He is an expert of cartoons from the classic Bugs Bunny to Anime with One Punch Man being a current favorite. If you have 12 hours to spare, join him in an extended cut marathon of the epic Lord of the Rings with Teriyaki Thin-Cut Flank Steak…doesn’t get any better than that!
I am Iron Man or Toper as he is more commonly called. Mike is an 80’s guy grooving to the smooth tunes of Earth, Wind, and Fire or Chicago (Hey, at least Peter Cetera had a theme song for Karate Kid). His favorite food is a Jack Stack Ham & Beef Sandwich, which he accompanies with a nice portion of his favorite cartoon, Veggie Tales.
Juanald’s favorite food is street tacos, but he hasn’t had a bowl of cereal for 10 years. He’s a Superman fan, but also loves Spidey in No Way Home. The most fun thing he’s done is skydiving…maybe because snakes, which he’s afraid of, can’t fly. He jams to The Weekend.
Steve’s so tall he’s scared of heights, but that’s Life (cereal of choice). He believes Batman is a true superhero because, without any superpowers, he’s still able to make a difference through martial arts. Steve once got lost in Florence, Italy, with a group of friends and had a Rush (favorite band) of an adventure. Enjoys watching Pokémon with his kids.
Kris loves all things kids from watching the Flintstones, Jetsons, Bugs Bunny, and Elmer Fudd to eating her fave cereals Peanut Butter Captain Crunch and Cocoa Pebbles…not mixed although that sounds like a Reese’s. She’s scared of heights but that didn’t stop her from jumping off 180 floors at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas…a big believer of overcoming your fears for sure!
Cowboy as he is sometimes known as ideal superhero is a combination of Captain America, Wolverine, and Batman. The funniest thing he’s ever done is attempted to run for exercise so he sticks to teaching martial arts. His taste for music is as mixed as his martial arts from the heavy metal band Neurosis, to Japanese composer Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts which lays down anime type tracks.
What does Wonder Woman, Futurama, Surf Ninjas, and Twiztids have in common? They happen to be some of Monkey’s (Trey’s nickname) favorite things (superhero, cartoon, movie, and music group). He’s also a fan of Hunan Canton Dishes and spending time in Okinawa. But don’t mention robots, not a fan.
