Hanshi Cris Valenzuela Sr. is a true Batman fan—both as his favorite superhero and in “Batman: The Animated Series.” He loves the movie *The Three Amigos*, enjoys a perfectly seared ribeye steak, and says the funnest thing he’s ever done is play with his kids. While he claims to fear only “rational fears,” his music of choice is Metallica, and his dream vacation spot is the sci-fi paradise Fhloston Paradise. As a kid, he was nicknamed “Seabass,” and when it comes to cereal, Magic Spoon is his go-to.

Between the ages of 4 and 6 studied Five Animal Kungfu Karate. At about age 6 transferred to learning ITF Taekwondo and Shotokan Karate. At the age of 12, I switched to WT Taekwondo. I have competed in Karate and Taekwondo since childhood at the national and international levels. I am also a USA Taekwondo-certified coach. Along with Taekwondo, I have trained in Aikido, Judo, BJJ, Boxing, Kickboxing, Kempo, and Eskrima. I have had many students compete and win at the State and National levels in the AAU and USAT organizations.
Teaching Philosophy
Teaching and learning Martial Arts should be safe, fun, and exciting. With a focus on real-world self-defense, tournament competition, and fitness, I like to challenge students and help them achieve new levels of success. I strive to help every student achieve their goals, whether that be attaining a Black Belt, becoming a tournament champion, or becoming an Instructor.
