A Black Panther fan, Keith likes a whole bunch of things including John Wick movies, chicken and spinach, Cap’n Crunch, and the ripcord ride at Worlds of Fun. Never wanting to miss an opportunity, “Keedy Kat” as he is sometimes called, will one day visit Asia (Japan, China, Korea).

My name is Sensei Keith Smith, and I began my journey with ActivStars in 1999. In 2014 I came under the instruction of Renshi Dave Elam, this placed me alongside many other great martial artists who also helped guide me. Through the ActivStars program, I received my 1st degree black belt in Shotokan Karate in April 2019. I became an instructor with ActivStars just a few months later. My main martial arts style is Shotokan Karate, I have also studied various other martial arts including Ninjustu. I also have a first degree black belt in Ninjutsu.

I have had the honor and privilege to meet and learn from Master Hollingworth, and train with many other amazing and talented instructors. Outside of martial arts, I work with students in the Missouri school system. I am a Paraprofessional in the Kansas City Public School district where I work with students who have special needs such as Autism.
