Developed in the 1930s by Imi Lichtenfeld, a Hungarian-Israeli martial artist, and former boxer and wrestler, Krav Maga was initially designed to help the Jewish community defend against fascist groups in pre-World War II Europe. When Lichtenfeld immigrated to Israel, he refined Krav Maga further while serving as a combat trainer for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).


The Karate Connection
